The Otonabee River Trail and Shoreline Improvement Project is the first phase of the overall "Little Lake Loop" which is a longstanding objective of the City's "Central Area Master Plan" as well as the "Little Lake Master Plan". The Project involves improvements to the shoreline along Crescent Street between Haggart Street and the Point of Del Crary Park.

The project will consider various enhancements such as:

  • the addition of active transportation facilities (per the implementation of the City's Transportation Master Plan)
  • shoreline erosion protection
  • improved aquatic habitat and replanting
  • improved recreational access to Little Lake for water activities
  • traffic calming measures
  • enhanced public gathering spaces

The City has awarded the design of this project to CIMA+ through a competitive RFP process. CIMA+ will be leading the engineering and design of the project.

Though the project is still early on in the conceptual planning phase the City would like to welcome input from interested parties on items such as:

  • how the area is currently being used
  • what improvements could be made as part of the project
  • what issues are currently present in the project area
  • what staff should consider when developing concepts for circulation and feedback

Please use the comment/question tool below to provide any input or ask questions you would like communicated to staff.

Further information will be provided on this page as the project develops through the conceptual planning phase and into detailed design. Public information sessions will also be held as the project advances.
