The City is looking for feedback on a new Corporate Accessibility Policy.

Implementing a new Corporate Accessibility Policy will further strengthen and standardize accessible service delivery across all City departments by giving staff consistent guidance and improving procedural access to City services. This policy supports the City’s Strategic Plan by promoting equity, inclusion, and customer-focused service for the community. It will replace two existing policies that have not been updated since 2009 and 2012 by combining them into one document. The new policy will meet current accessibility legislation, promote best practices, and ensure accessibility principles are applied consistently across all City of Peterborough programs, services, and operations.

Residents are encouraged to view the proposed policy under the 'Documents' section on the right-hand side of this page, and provide comments below.

The comments received will be used to inform the policy and revise language if necessary. Comments will be received by the Program Manager, Accessibility Standards and Integration and the Accessibility Advisory Committee before the policy is reviewed by Council.

The comment period is now closed.
